Welcome to the MCM Laboratory @Houston Archive<\/h5>\n\t

Our previous lab home located at the heart of the Texas Medical Center in Houston:<\/p>\n\t

Behavioral setup<\/h5>\n\t

Memory-related tasks:<\/em> <\/strong>T maze, novel object recognition, object place recognition, contextual\/auditory fear conditioning, inhibitory avoidance, morris water maze, self-administration.<\/p>\n

Social interaction tasks:<\/em> <\/strong>three-chamber test, direct social, ultrasonic vocalization recording.<\/p>\n

Other behaviors: <\/em><\/strong>grooming, elevated plus maze test, forced swim test, tail-suspension test, nesting behaviors, open field test, conditioned place preference.<\/p>\n

Drosophila behaviors:<\/strong> <\/em>classical olfactory conditioning.<\/p>\n\t

Electrophysiology setups<\/h5>\n\t

Whole cell recording, field recording and multi-electrode array.<\/p>\n\t

Cellular experiments<\/h5>\n\t

We perform a wide battery of techniques, including brain slice treatment, immunohistochemistry, immunostaining, cell culture, cell sorting and tissue culture<\/p>\n\t

Molecular experiments<\/h5>\n\t

Techniques that we performed in the lab include cloning, DNA\/RNA extraction, RNA sequencing, q-PCR, Western blotting, polysome profiling, and ribosome profiling etc<\/em>.<\/p>\n\t

Microbial Genetics<\/h5>\n\t

Anaerobic chambers, germ-free facilities are available at BCM (not pictured here).<\/p>\n\t

Surgery, Stereotaxic injections, EEG Recordings, Optogenetics<\/h5>\n\t
